Expert advice for a healthier later life

Ageing isn’t a diagnosis – it’s a natural part of life that deserves specialist attention, clarity and thoughtful, personalised care.

As we age, healthcare can become more complex. You may be managing multiple conditions, taking several medications or noticing changes that make everyday activities more challenging. Our geriatric medicine service is designed to support you through all of these changes.

Our specialist geriatricians understand the unique healthcare needs of older adults. Rather than seeing multiple doctors for different concerns, you’ll have one comprehensive consultation with an expert who looks at your health as a whole.

A Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) is a detailed evaluation that goes beyond a standard medical appointment. It’s the cornerstone of excellent geriatric care that gives you a clear view over every aspect of your health, wellbeing and independence.

Care that starts with what matters to you

Our geriatric medicine consultants will take time to understand your main concerns, including:

  • Your medical health – all conditions, symptoms and medications
  • Your physical abilities – mobility, balance and managing daily activities
  • Your mental wellbeing – mood, memory and cognitive health
  • Your home environment – whether you feel safe, supported and independent
  • Your goals – what's important to you and your quality of life

This comprehensive approach helps us identify issues that might otherwise be missed, reduce unnecessary medications, prevent avoidable hospital admissions and create a personalised care plan to support your independence and wellbeing.

Coordinated support when you need it

If additional support would be helpful, we can arrange quick referrals to our multidisciplinary team, including:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Dietetics
  • Speech and Language Therapy

We aim to reduce fragmented care by providing seamless, co-ordinated oversight across all aspects of your treatment. Our geriatricians play a central role in bringing together different specialties – such as cancer services and surgical teams – to ensure your treatment is carefully planned, safe and aligned with your overall goals and health needs.

You’ll also have access to timely outpatient appointments, supported by a wide network of diagnostics and specialist services, ensuring a complete and joined-up approach to your health and wellbeing.

Is the Ageing Well Service right for you?

We understand that many people want to stay in control of their health and continue to live independently for as long as possible. This service is designed for older people  who want specialist assessment, care and support with a focus on maintaining independence and confidence.

Alongside assessment and treatment, we place a strong emphasis on prevention and proactive care. This includes identifying and reducing risk factors for cardiovascular disease, supporting cognitive health and help preventing falls. Our aim is to intervene early, maintain function and support long-term wellbeing.

What happens next?

Following your assessment, we’ll send you a clear, written report detailing our key findings and next steps, so you know exactly what to expect.

If further support is needed, we can liaise directly with your GP or other specialists to ensure your care remains coordinated.

Your initial consultation lasts 45-60 minutes, with follow-up appointments available to monitor progress, address new challenges, or look at any concerns you may have. You’re welcome to bring a family member or carer for support if you’d like to.

The initial CGA consultation typically lasts 45-60 minutes.

Absolutely. The most important thing for us is that you feel comfortable, safe and supported at all times. If you want to bring a family member with you, we would encourage you to do so.

Follow-up appointments are available. We use these to monitor progress, review your plan and support new challenges as they arise. We can talk to you about these at your initial appointment.

While we're recognised by all major UK insurers, it's important to contact your insurance company before you visit the clinic to ensure you’re covered and that you understand the specific terms of your policy.

Insurers generally require a GP referral before they authorise an initial consultation. If treatment or further tests are recommended, you’ll need to let your insurer know. You’ll need to give us your full insurance details at or before your appointment.

While we can invoice your insurance company directly, you’ll need to make sure your claim is processed promptly. Should your insurer decline or delay payment, you’ll be invoiced directly.

Yes we do. You can pay via major credit cards, cash, bank transfers and personal cheques with a banker’s card.
