The Process

How to refer a patient

Referring a patient is quick and straightforward. We’ve designed the process to be efficient, supportive, and transparent, so you can ensure your patients receive timely expert care while staying fully informed throughout their journey.

Submit referral

Send the referral using the method that suits you best. You can either: 


fill out our online form, email to info@thephysiciansclinic.co.uk, post your referral letter to The Physicians’ Clinic, 13-14 Devonshire Street, London W1G 7AE, fax it through to 020 7034 8190, or call us directly on 020 3868 4989 (+44 (0)20 3868 4989 from outside the UK).


Our team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, to guide you through the process.

Contacting the patient

Once we receive the referral, our team will contact the patient directly to arrange an appointment with the most appropriate consultant. We explain every step clearly, so your patient feels informed and supported at all times.

Same-day tests if needed

If diagnostic tests are recommended – blood tests, imaging, or cardiology assessments – they’ll usually be carried out on the same day as the consultation. Our fully equipped, consultant-led facilities allow for quick assessment without unnecessary delays.

Feedback sent to you

After the consultation and any tests, we’ll send a detailed report to you outlining the findings, next steps and treatment plan. This ensures continuity of care and makes sure you’re in the loop throughout and fully informed on your patient’s progress.

Acute admission service and Rapid Access Clinic

The Physicians' Clinic operates a 365-day-a-year private healthcare acute admission service providing urgent access to hospital care for private patients who become seriously ill during the hours between 6am and 10pm. 

Access to our acute medical admissions service is through GP referral, or through any private urgent care facility or A&E department.
